Along with the 2006 NYSE truck, this special
edition miniature was reportedly given out to select Hess VIPs,
shareholders or NYSE members, or a combination of the three. It's really
uncertain who actually received these trucks, but they were definitely
produced to commemorate the May 9th, 2006 name change of Amerada Hess to
Hess Corporation. The May 2006 date is imprinted on its name plate.
Supposedly, only 96 of these trucks were made, and even fewer
given out. Why Hess wouldn't give out all of those produced is a mystery
to this Hess collector, if the story is accurate.
